IELTS Speaking in Hindi – Complete Guide (Format, Cue Cards, Discussion & Band 7+ Strategy)

10 min mock/day → self-review.
  • Accent myth: Band accent से नहीं; clarity + control से मिलता है।
  • Ideas block: Cue card के लिए “story bricks” रखें—place, people, time, feelings, lesson.
💡 Mindset: Perfect grammar नहीं—clear, connected बोलना है। छोटे pauses OK; long silences avoid करें।

2) IELTS Speaking Test Format (3 Parts)

Part 1 – Introduction (4–5 min): home, work/study, hobbies. Tip: 2–3 line answers; paraphrase lightly; smile & steady pace.
Part 2 – Cue Card (3–4 min): 1-min plan + 1–2 min speak + follow-ups. Tip: 4-point map: intro → details → mini-story → takeaway.
Part 3 – Discussion (4–5 min): why/how/impact के deep Qs. Tip: stance → reason → example → mini-conclusion.
✅ Daily rule: Record → Replay → Fix ONE thing (speed/clarity/linkers/grammar).

3) Band Descriptors – 4 Pillars

① Fluency & Coherence – steady pace, logical links, fillers limited.
② Lexical Resource – topic words + collocations; paraphrase skill.
③ Grammar Range & Accuracy – simple+complex mix; tense control; few errors.
④ Pronunciation – clarity > accent; word/sentence stress; natural pausing.

4) Part 1 – Quick Wins (Intro Q&A)

  • Keep it short: 2–3 lines; complete idea.
  • Paraphrase: question words को हल्का बदलें—natural लगेगा।
  • Add 1 detail: time/place/frequency → answers human लगते हैं।
Sample Q&As (Band-7 tone)

Q: Do you use any apps daily?
A: Yes, I use a note-taking app every morning to plan the day. It keeps my tasks and vocabulary in one place, so I feel organised.

Q: What do you usually do on weekends?
A: I catch up on reading and go for a short run. It helps me reset and start the week with better energy.

5) Part 2 – Cue Cards: 1-Min Planning, Frameworks & Samples

(A) One-Minute Planning – S.T.A.R.

Setup (who/where/when) → Trigger (what happened) → Actions (what you did) → Result/Reflection (outcome + feeling)

⏱️ 15s setup • 15s trigger • 20s actions • 10s reflection = 60s plan

(B) Universal Frameworks

  • FRAME A: intro → details → mini-story → takeaway
  • P.E.E.R.: Point → Explain → Example → Reflect
  • Past→Present→Future: origin → current role → next step

(C) Booster Vocabulary (Natural)

Opinion: I believe • I tend to think • In my view
Sequence: first of all • later on • eventually
Cause/Result: because • therefore • as a result
Feelings: thrilled • relieved • frustrated • proud

(D) 10 Cue Cards – Band-7 style short answers

हर card ~2 min बोलने लायक content देता है—अपनी story से personalise कर देना।

1) A book you enjoyed
FRAME A — I’d like to talk about Atomic Habits… I applied the two-minute rule… It improved my consistency.
2) A place that surprised you
Past→Present→Future — calm hill town → friendly market → plan to return in summer.
3) A skill you learnt
P.E.E.R. — basic video editing → class projects → charity clip performed well → learnt storytelling.
4) A person who inspired you
FRAME A — English teacher → reading log → confidence grew.
5) Tech you use daily
P.E.E.R. — note app → tasks+vocab → less stress.
6) A goal you achieved
FRAME A — 5K run plan → rain break → finished → proud.
7) Helpful advice
P.E.E.R. — start small → 10-min study habit → consistency wins.
8) A memorable meal
Past→Present→Future — festival dinner → warm stories → learn recipe.
9) A problem you solved
FRAME A — study group → rotating hybrid → better attendance.
10) An item you lost & found
P.E.E.R. — lost wallet → blocked card → volunteer found → relief.

6) Part 3 – Discussion: Band-7 Frameworks & Follow-ups

Formula: stance → reason → example → mini-conclusion (+ a small “however/that said” for balance).

(A) 4 Answer Frameworks

R.E.A.L. → Reason • Example • Analysis • Link-back Do people read fewer books? Short-form is addictive (R); reels give quick hits (E); long reading feels demanding (A); audiobooks bridge the gap (L).
C.C.C. → Claim • Cause • Consequences Should public transport be free? Yes (C); reduces car use (Cause); cleaner air but needs funding plan (Consq).
A.C.E. → Answer • Contrast • Explain Is homework necessary? To an extent yes (A); volume matters (C); light, well-designed tasks build habits (E).
If/Then (Speculation) → If … then … because … How will AI change jobs? If routine tasks go to AI, then creative/social skills matter more because they’re harder to automate.

(B) Follow-ups कैसे संभालें?

  • Deepen: “Building on that…” कहकर नया reason/angle जोड़ें।
  • Qualify: “to some extent”, “in the long run” — nuance दिखाएँ।
  • Don’t know? Honest hedge + small example: “I’m not entirely sure, but from what I’ve seen…”.
  • Compare: “Compared to rural areas, cities tend to…”.
  • Mini-wrap: “So overall, balance is the key.”

(C) Upgrade Toolkit

Hedging: generally speaking • tends to • largely • to some extent
Contrast: however • nonetheless • that said • whereas
Cause/Effect: therefore • consequently • leads to • results in
Perspective: in the long run • from an economic/social standpoint

(D) Mini-Mock: 6 Discussion Qs (Band-7 style)

1) Limit screen time for children?
To some extent yes—sleep/attention suffers. For example, late-night gaming hurts mornings. That said, guidance beats hard bans.
2) Remote work for society?
Mostly positive: less traffic, wider access. However, isolation risk → hybrid & community spaces help.
3) Ads influence kids more?
Yes; kids lack skepticism. Mascots boost sugary cereals; tighter rules during kids’ hours make sense.
4) Universities too job-focused?
Increasingly yes; balance needed—core theory + applied projects.
5) Should museums be free?
Ideally yes for access; if budgets tight, free days or student passes.
6) Is fast fashion harmful?
Waste + labour issues; buy less/better; policy: recycling & transparency.

7) Daily Micro-Drills (10–12 min) + 7-Day Plans

  1. Part 1 pack: 5 Qs (2–3 lines each).
  2. Cue card: 1-min plan → 90–120 sec बोलो → 1 सुधार note.
  3. Part 3: 2 “why/how” Qs → reason + example + wrap.
✅ Rule: रोज़ एक चीज़ सुधारो—speed / clarity / linkers / grammar → compounding से band ↑

(A) 7-Day Cue Card Plan

  • Day 1: S.T.A.R. + 2 cards, record
  • Day 2: FRAME A + 2
  • Day 3: P.E.E.R. + 2
  • Day 4: Past→Present→Future + 2
  • Day 5: Mixed 3 (timed)
  • Day 6: Weak topics (tech/env)
  • Day 7: Mock ×3 + mistake log

(B) 7-Day Part 3 Plan

  • Day 1: R.E.A.L. (3 Qs)
  • Day 2: A.C.E. (3 Qs)
  • Day 3: If/Then (3 Qs)
  • Day 4: C.C.C. (3 Qs)
  • Day 5: Mixed mock (6 Qs)
  • Day 6: Weak topics vocab bank
  • Day 7: Full Part-3 mock (8–10 Qs)

8) FAQs & Common Mistakes

  1. क्या accent जरूरी है? नहीं—clarity & control पर score मिलता है।
  2. क्या 2 min पूरा बोलना जरूरी है? 90–120 sec with coverage is fine; naturally close करो।
  3. Idea नहीं मिल रहा? Past→Present→Future frame + honest filler: “Let me think for a second…”.
  • Very long answers → 3–5 sentences काफी; depth, not length.
  • Template-voice → अपने words, light paraphrase; natural examples।
  • Linker overdose → selective use; robotic tone से बचो।
  • Zero stance → शुरुआत में clear position + later balance (“that said”).
