English में SINCE preposition का use तब किया जाता है जब हम यह बताना चाहते हैं कि कोई action किस fixed time से शुरू हुआ और अब तक जारी है। SINCE हमेशा एक starting point दिखाता है — यानि वह exact समय, दिन, तारीख या moment जहाँ से कोई काम शुरू हुआ।

कोई काम किस fixed time, दिन, तारीख या moment से शुरू हुआ
और अब तक जारी है,
तब English में SINCE preposition का use किया जाता है।
SINCE हमेशा एक starting point बताता है —
यानि “कब से?”
इसीलिए SINCE के साथ
Present Perfect या
Present Perfect Continuous tense

Structure:
Subject + has / have + verb (V3) + since + starting time
जब focus result या state पर हो —
कि कोई काम शुरू हुआ और अब तक complete/valid है —
तब Present Perfect use करते हैं।
- I have lived here since 2015.
- She has known him since childhood.
- We have not met since last year.
- He has worked in this company since June.

2️⃣ SINCE + Present Perfect Continuous
Structure:
Subject + has / have + been + verb-ing + since + starting time
जब focus इस बात पर हो कि
action लगातार चल रहा है
या अभी भी जारी है —
तब Present Perfect Continuous use किया जाता है।
- I have been waiting since morning.
- She has been studying since 6 AM.
- They have been living here since 2020.
- He has been working on this project since January.
🧠 Tip: अगर sentence में activity + time span का feel आए — तो Continuous tense ज़्यादा natural लगता है।
3️⃣ SINCE + Past Simple (Special Case)
कभी-कभी SINCE के बाद
Past Simple आता है,
लेकिन यह पूरा sentence नहीं,
बल्कि since-clause होता है।
Main clause → Present Perfect
Since clause → Past Simple
- I have been happy since I joined this job.
- She has not spoken to me since we argued.
- He has lived alone since his parents died.
