2. Upon – Formal या Poetic Use

English में Upon असल में On का ही formal और poetic version है। लेकिन यह केवल spelling या style का फर्क नहीं है, बल्कि इससे पूरे sentence का tone बदल जाता है। जहाँ On रोज़मर्रा की बातचीत या casual writing में natural लगता है, वहीं Upon sentence को ज्यादा serious, elegant और literary बना देता है। इसी कारण Upon का इस्तेमाल अक्सर stories, poems, essays और legal/official documents में देखने को मिलता है। कभी-कभी यह dramatic effect देने के लिए भी use होता है।

Upon का दूसरा common use है “जैसे ही कुछ हुआ, तुरंत दूसरा काम हो गया।” इसका मतलब है कि Upon किसी event और उसके बाद होने वाले action को directly जोड़ देता है। उदाहरण के लिए: “Upon hearing the news, she smiled.” इसका sense होगा कि “जैसे ही उसने खबर सुनी, वह मुस्कुरा दी।” इस तरह Upon एक connector की तरह काम करता है जो events को dramatic और smooth तरीके से link करता है।

3. Onto – Movement दिखाने के लिए (किसी सतह पर आना/चढ़ना)

Onto एक ऐसा preposition है जिसका इस्तेमाल हम तब करते हैं जब कोई व्यक्ति या वस्तु movement के साथ किसी surface पर आता है या उस पर चढ़ता है। यानि अगर सिर्फ position बतानी हो तो On इस्तेमाल करेंगे, लेकिन अगर action और movement show करना हो तो Onto सही रहेगा। इसलिए rule बहुत simple है: On = पहले से ऊपर होना (static), जबकि Onto = ऊपर आना/चढ़ना (movement)।
