जब हम कहते हैं – I don’t work, We don’t understand या They don’t come here, तो इसका मतलब होता है कि यह काम अभी के समय में नहीं होता। यानी Don’t हमेशा present time की बात करता है और future या past के लिए इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जाता।
Don’t का हिंदी अर्थ context के अनुसार होता है, जैसे – “मैं नहीं करता”, “हम नहीं करते”, “तुम नहीं करते” या कभी-कभी command में “मत करो”। उदाहरण के लिए – Don’t waste time का मतलब होता है “समय बर्बाद मत करो”।
